MONTERMINI GIVES PACIFIC 4th CONSECUTIVE FINISH

Andrea Montermini finished 12th in today's Hungarian Grand Prix, making this Pacific's fifth finish from 10 events, and underlining the progress made by the team in terms of improving the reliability of the Pacific-Ford PR02.

Team mate Giovanni Lavaggi was less fortunate, running wide at the second corner and going off the track after 5 laps.

Andrea dropped back to 23rd position at the start, took 7 laps to repass Pedro Diniz and from then on made good progress. He made two pit stops - after 21 laps and 45 laps - and they both went very smoothly.

ANDREA MONTERMINI (I) - Result : 12th

"The car was very consistent in the race and the pits stops were very good, so I was able to concentrate well and make sure that we achieved another good finish. The reliability of the car is now very good, which is an important step for the team, and of course we will continue to work on the performance as well. After the result in Hockenheim this shows that we are making good progress."

GIOVANNI LAVAGGI (I) - Result : Retired

"I was careful at the start, but then I had a problem to change down gear coming into the second corner and the car ran wide. I was in 5th gear, so I couldn't drive the car through the corner, got onto the dirty part of the track and went off. It's disappointing but I am very happy for the team that Andrea had another good result."
